About Gaston Montenegro

I’m from Argentina, where you learn to roll with the punches before you even know you’ll need to. Growing up in a place with big challenges and not much to work with taught me to spot opportunities and charge at them. That’s still my fuel—find the gap, fix it, keep moving.

For over 25 years, I’ve been deep in tech, hopping from the Americas to Europe, chasing ideas and sniffing out problems others overlook. I’ve kicked off eight companies—some soared, two got sold, and a few taught me how to dust myself off. The trick isn’t just a killer idea; it’s nailing the right problem, building something that clicks, and grinding through the chaos. Sometimes, I’ll whip up a quick mock-up in a day to test if a hunch has legs before diving in.

Now, I’m in the UK, steering two projects that have me fired up. Visionator helps businesses grow smarter and faster with tech that makes sense. Helpix uses AI to boost local shops, helping them connect with their communities like never before. Different gigs, same deal: see the problem, solve it, make things better.

Building stuff isn’t just about numbers for me. It’s the thrill of an idea that won’t let go, the obsession to make it real, and the hustle to pull it off. Whether brainstorming, leading, or plotting the next step, I’m all about creating something that matters. Got an idea or a problem to crack? Let’s talk and make some noise.

Personal FAQs

What I’m about, no filter

What gets you going?

I love fixing things. Always have. I walk around spotting stuff that’s off—like, “Why’s this so hard? Can we make it better?” It’s not just about starting companies. It’s about solving real problems and shaking things up. That’s what keeps me pumped.

What’s a big lesson you stick to?

Don’t quit. Argentina taught me that young. Crazy inflation, wild ups and downs—you learn to roll with it. Things go wrong? No big deal. You figure it out and keep pushing. I use that for work, family, everything. There’s always a way.

How do you stay chill?

My family’s my rock. My wife’s awesome, my three kids are a riot—one’s studying aeronautical engineering, two are still stuck in high school—and our dog’s the best. Hanging out, maybe hiking near the castle or just goofing around at home, keeps me grounded. Also, messing around on the tennis court is my jam—too bad I’ve got tennis elbow now, so my racket’s collecting dust while I tell everyone I’m “resting” like a pro!

What’s your thing outside work?

I’m a curious cat—always poking my nose where it doesn’t belong, but in the best way. Nothing beats hitting the road with my family, whether we’re diving into a buzzing city or getting lost in some tiny Scottish hamlet where the sheep outnumber the people. I’m already scheming our next escape, plotting routes to hidden gems and—guilty as charged—scouting for decent Wi-Fi so I can sneak in a quick email. (Sorry, kids, Dad’s a tech nerd!) Those adventures, soaking up new sights and random chats with strangers, light a spark that keeps my ideas flowing.
