About Gaston Montenegro

I’m from Argentina, where you learn resilience before you even realise you’ll need it. Growing up in a tough country with limited resources and big challenges taught me to push forward and break barriers—that mindset still drives everything I do.

I’ve spent over 25 years in tech across the Americas and Europe, chasing ideas and spotting gaps others miss. I’ve launched eight companies (the ones that stuck, at least), sold two, and crashed enough times to know what counts. Success isn’t just the idea—it’s finding the right problem, nailing the solution, and building with grit, even when it’s messy. Sometimes, I’ll test a quick mock-up—a fast way to see if a problem’s worth solving—before going all in.

Now, in the UK, I’m leading two ventures I’m hooked on. Visionator helps businesses use tech to grow smarter and faster. Helpix uses AI to boost local businesses, making it easier for them to connect with their communities. Different paths, same aim: spot the gap, solve the problem, create impact.

Building’s more than metrics—it’s about turning ideas into something real. I thrive on the process: the spark, the obsession, and the grind to make it work. Whether I’m brainstorming, leading, or plotting the next move, it’s all about creating value and leaving things better than I found them.

Personal FAQs

The life, values, and moments behind the work

What inspires you to do what you do?

I’m wired to solve problems—it’s how my mind works. Even walking down the street, I’m always asking: how could this be better? What if we tried something new? That constant curiosity drives me. For me, it’s not just about building businesses; it’s about solving real problems and creating meaningful change. That’s what keeps me moving forward.

What’s a lesson you carry with you every day?

Resilience. Life rarely goes to plan. Growing up in Argentina taught me that early. Running businesses in a place with 200% inflation and constant uncertainty forces you to adapt, think fast, and keep moving. That mindset shapes everything I do—work, family, and big decisions alike. No matter how hard things get, there’s always a way forward.

How do you stay grounded?

My family keeps me grounded, 100%. I have three kids—one studying aeronautical engineering and two still in high school—a brilliant wife, and a dog. They’re my balance. Whether it’s hiking together in Loch Lomond or just sharing everyday moments, they remind me of what’s most important. Also, playing tennis helps—it’s my go-to for clearing my head and resetting.

What motivates you outside of work?

I believe in staying curious. I love traveling, meeting people from all walks of life, and hearing their stories. Exploring new places—whether vibrant cities or hidden villages in Scotland—with my family is a favourite. Stepping into the unknown and soaking in those quiet moments away from screens fuels my creativity and gives me a fresh perspective.
